FAQs

Bracing & Custom Orthotics

If you have severe foot issues that require correction or you spend a lot of time on your feet, then wearing custom orthotics all the time can be beneficial. If you are using them for support to heal an injury you may not need them long term.

Our custom orthotics in Regina can help treat a range of painful conditions, from tired aching feet and bunions to more serious issues, such as lower back pain and achilles tendinitis.

Orthotics are shoe or heel inserts custom made especially for you. Our custom orthotics in Regina can help if you experience ongoing hip and back pain caused by foot positioning issues, such as flat feet, high arches, excessive pronation, plantar fasciitis and more. Conditions such as arthritis can also cause poor positioning and foot discomfort that custom orthotics can help to correct.

We offer custom Regina knee bracing solutions and off-the-shelf knee braces such as the Ossur Unloader One or Unloader One-X.

If you have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee, the most common reason for knee braces, the Ossur Unloader One and the Unloader One-X are the most popular knee braces with their ease of use and less bulky design.

HealthWorks works closely with many of the orthopaedic surgeons in Regina to get you into the knee brace that you need. If you have been prescribed a knee brace for your osteoarthritis, you will be prescribed an unloader brace to take the pressure off the inside or outside of the knee where the bone on bone pressure is. HealthWorks can get you fitted for the unloader knee brace that is right for you.

If you are needing sports bracing, or a brace for ligament injury, we can help you with that as well. HealthWorks also has brace options for carpal tunnel, wrist support, ankle and back braces as well. If we do not have what you need, we can get it!

If you’re experiencing knee pain or suffering from a ligament injury, carpal tunnel, sprained ankle or other condition that your doctor feels you need a brace for, then talk to Dr. Khan or Ken Ansell to see which knee brace is right for you.

A knee brace can help if you’re suffering from an inflammatory or degenerative condition like osteoarthritis or if you have had a ligament injury. An unloader knee brace works by shifting the pressure and weight off your affected joint to ease pain. You should wear one when you are doing activities such as walking, sport activity, extended periods of standing or activities where pressure is being put on the worn arthritic area of the knee. For a ligament brace, that may vary from wearing it regularly to provide stability to the knee and when you are doing sports to any activities that put strain on the ligament that need to be supported.

If you’re experiencing knee pain or suffering from a ligament injury, carpal tunnel, sprained ankle or other condition that your doctor feels you need a brace for, then talk to Dr. Khan or Ken Ansell to see which knee brace is right for you.
