What to expect from our sports acupuncture Regina?

At HealthWorks Acupuncture Regina your sports acupuncture treatment starts with a general functional assessment and a more detailed assessment of the injured or problem area. One of the major problems the assessment is trying to uncover is muscular inhibition.

Musculature that is found to be inhibited is treated with specialized electroacupuncture to restore full muscle function. Nerve supply is also stimulated, including spinal nerves. Soft tissue techniques such as myofascial release  massage and graston style treatments are also incorporated for areas of muscular tightness, spasm or dysfunction.

After the acupuncture stimulation, the functional assessment is repeated to ensure correct function has returned to the muscle. When no injury is present the results are almost instant and very noticeable.

FAQs

Title here introducing sports acupuncture FAQs

Sports acupuncture can be an effective alternative treatment for managing the pain and swelling of soft tissue injuries, such as torn ligaments. As well as bringing fresh blood and nutrients to the site of the injury to promote healing, acupuncture can release endorphins to relieve pain, and speed up your recovery.

Research has shown that a series of acupuncture treatments may help those who suffer from chronic shoulder and back pain. Acupuncture stimulates parts of the nervous system which triggers opioid-like chemicals, and releases endorphins and neurotransmitters that shut off pain.
